I am often asked about bite proof muzzles and the answer is that all muzzles are designed to prevent dogs from biting, some offering more protection than others. However very few companies, if any, will declare a muzzle bite proof as nothing is infallible.

The more enclosed a muzzle, then the more protection they are going to offer, however this often means they may be heavier, or not as good for running off lead due to reduced airflow through the muzzle.
It is a balance of risk, and a reactive dog on lead is under your close control and something like the 110/107 will stop them lunging and snapping, whilst still allowing you to give them treats which is important if you are training them.

It is also important to take into consideration how much the muzzle interferes with the dogs sense of smell, and to a certain degree sight. A dogs sense of smell is vitaly important to them exploring and experiencing their world, and the lighter race muzzles will allow them to do this much better than the heavier and more enclosed muzzles.

Don pare 113 IG muzzle a small plastic basket muzzle designed for Italian Greyhounds, and will fit tiny terriers and whippets, but please bear in mind this is a small narrow muzzle.

Don pare 116 lightweight basket muzzle designed for running and will fit small dogs such as terriers.

Don pare 116 lightweight box muzzle has a small guard (enclosed area) in front of the dogs mouth which affords more protection and is good at preventing scavenging. As the guard is small with the rest of the muzzle being an open basket the dogs can still keep cool as plenty of air flows through the muzzle. and will fit small dogs such as terriers.

Don Pare 103 lightweight race muzzle designed for racing Whippets and ideal for running in due to the basket design. Will help prevent scavenging as the gaps in the muzzle measure 1x1.5cm and are small enough to stop them picking most things up, however it is still possible for the dog to take treats when wearing it. There is a stronger tougher nylon version called the 103 tough which is more bite proof.

Don Pare 111L and 111 are a general purpose plastic muzzle for small/medium dogs e.g large Whippets. standard Dachshund, terriers. There is also a black rubber version, which is lighter and will withstand more contact than the plastic and is a good choice for dogs that break the plastic muzzles. The muzzle is cleverly designed to be an open basket style suitable for running in, with a minimal enclosed panel directly in front of the dogs mouth (called a guard) designed to stop them scavenging.
It is available in 2 styles, with and without a noseband. It is possible for the dog to take treats when wearing it.

Don Pare 110 race muzzle (size 1-6) and Don Pare 107 race muzzle (size 3-6) are plastic basket race muzzles designed with maximum airflow through the muzzle to allow he dog to pant effectively and should be the first choice for off lead running. They are ideal for running off lead, canicross, bikejor and any form of exercise . The 110 has slightly thinner struts made out of a tougher nylon, whilst the 107 has slightly wider struts, but neither muzzle likes a lot of contact and will break.
The dogs can take treats when wearing these muzzles, and will fit a wide range of dogs including Collies, Lurchers, Greyhounds, Podencos, Spaniels, large terriers.
A guard can also be added to the size 5 & 6 muzzles to offer more protection making them more bite proof and as an excellent way to stop scavenging.

Don pare 112 protection plus available in sizes 5 & 6 is a basket style that offers more protection due to the small gaps in the struts, whilst maintaining a good flow of air through the basket style. This is a good muzzle for scavenges and aggressive dogs however you are unable to feed treats due to the narrow gaps in the struts.
These will fit Collies, Greyhounds, Lurchers, small GSD, small Pointers, Standard Poodles.

Don Pare 101 box muzzle available in 2 lengths, the 101 standard and the 101 short, are excellent at preventing recovering dogs licking their wounds/injuries, to prevent them scavenging and for visits to the vets or groomers. There is also a black rubber version, which is lighter and will withstand more contact than the plastic and is a good choice for dogs that break the plastic muzzles.
Also available in a tougher nylon material
It is possible to feed treats when wearing the muzzle, but not as easy as the basket styles. These will fit Collies, Greyhounds, Lurchers, small GSD, small Pointers, Standard Poodles.
A guard can also be added to offer more protection making them more bite proof and as an excellent way to stop scavenging.

Birdwell muzzles are sturdier and offer more protection than the 110 and 107 muzzles, however this means they are slightly heavier. The basket on these muzzles is 7cm wide- so may not be wide enough for some breeds such as Staffords. They will fit Greyhounds, GSD, Pointer, Weimaramer, Malinois, large Lurchers but please measure to get the right size.
The Birdwell medium is equivalent to the size 6 Don Pare muzzle (available in 107, 110, and 101)
The Birdwell large is the same size as the 114 style and the biggest we sell. They fastens with one strap around the back of the dogs head, however a muzzle stop or keeper strap can be added to help keep the muzzle in place.
A guard can also be added to offer more protection or as an excellent way to stop scavenging.
The dogs can take treats when wearing the muzzles.

Don Pare 114 are sturdier muzzles and are cleverly designed to be an open basket style suitable for running in, with a minimal enclosed panel directly in front of the dogs mouth designed to stop them scavenging. The panel is in such a position that it can make it awkward to feed treats.
The basket on these muzzles is 7cm wide- so may not be wide enough for some breeds such as Staffords. They will fit large Greyhounds, GSD, Pointer, Weimaramer, Malinois, but please measure to be sure.
The strap is designed with an integral keepr strap, which fastens around the dogs neck to stop the muzzle coming off. A guard can also be added to offer more protection and as an excellent way to stop scavenging.
The 114 is the same size as the Birdwell large.
